CEREC - A Breakthrough in Dental Technology

We truly appreciate the relationships we have been able to develop over time with our clients. Helping patients reach their goal of lifetime oral health is incredibly important to us. We have advanced training in a revolutionary new procedure that we would like to make you aware of.

The new procedure is called CEREC, which uses the most advanced computer technology available in dentistry today. Now, old worn and leaking mercury-silver fillings can be replaced in only one visit with natural looking, long-lasting ceramic restorations. For the first time in dental history, in only one visit, teeth can be virtually "re-enameled" to a state of near perfect condition. After CEREC dental restorations are placed, studies show that teeth are actually strengthened to their near original condition.

The procedure starts with an infrared camera, which is used to take a picture of the tooth. The computer is then programmed by the dentist to fabricate the restoration from a block of space-age biocompatible ceramic material. The final product is a restoration that fits perfectly into the tooth, then bonded permanently in place and polished to a high shine. The end result is a tooth that looks, feels and functions like it originally did.

We have successfully placed many CEREC restorations in our office and are extremely pleased with the results. The metal-free aspect of these restorations is a tremendous benefit to nearly 30% of the population who are known to be allergic to nickel, which is a component of many metal-based dental restorations. CEREC restorations are the most conservative technique in dentistry today, typically done without the need for excessive drilling on enamel or root canal work.

As a part of our ongoing commitment to providing you with the most advanced dental care available, we are delivering CEREC dentistry with the same high levels of quality and comfort that you have come to expect from our practice. CEREC restorations allow us to quickly and efficiently restore your teeth properly so that you can keep your teeth healthy, strong and beautiful for your entire life. Lithium desilicate glass ceramics from e-max CAD

We produce crowns, laminates, inlays and onlays from lithium desilicate blocks / e-max CAD /, which are manufactured by the company Ivoclar-Vivadent. The bending resistance of the teeth that are made from these blocks is 360 MPa. This is two times more than the resistance of the regular blocks and almost four times more than that of ceramics, used for the finishing touches on metal. When the teeth are milled from the blocks, they are of bluish color and their resistance is up to 160 MPa. These teeth can be measured in a mouth. After that, they are crystallized for about 30 minutes in a furnace and acquire the proper color, as well as the bending resistance of 360 MPa. The teeth, which are made from e-max, do not need to be strengthened by adhesive systems. They can be cemented with usual cementum. This way time can be saved up as the lithium desilicate ceramics do not differ from any other kind of ceramics in terms of their aesthetical qualities.
